Laguna Nigel, CA, May 9, 2002 - SYS-CON Media (www.sys-con.com) headquartered in Montvale, NJ, announced today that Mark Harabedian has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, Harabedian will be in charge of all finance and operational responsibilities of the company at a corporate level. This includes SYS-CON Publications, Inc., SYS-CON Events, Inc. and other corporate entities.

As Vice President of Finance at The Economist Group, Harabedian served as a senior financial executive since 1997, with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. From 1994 -1997, he was responsible for strategic planning, acquisitions, financial reporting, budgeting, capital, operating, and internal controls. Harabedian started his professional career in 1982 with KPMG as a senior auditor and tax specialist. Prior to joining The Economist Group, Harabedian held various positions with Knight Ridder Inc. in their Business Information Services Group in New York City. Harabedian holds a BS degree in Accounting, and an MBA in Business Administration, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
