PEARL RIVER, NY, Nov. 16, 1999 - Java Developer's Journal circulation breaks the 70,000 mark for the June '99 issue, reducing a full-page, four-color ad cost by 50%

JDJ's April newsstand sales also doubled as compared to Web Techniques, C/C++ Users Journal, Software Development, Intelligent Enterprise, MSJ, Java Report, Java Pro and others

The qualified circulation of Java Developer's Journal print edition reached a record high of 70,017 for the June issue, according to BPA International's June 1999 initial audit report. For the June issue JDJ printed and distributed over 104,000 copies, including 13,000 bonus copies distributed at JavaOne in San Francisco. (Show copies were not included in JDJ's qualified circulation figures.) ( http://www2.sys-con.com/recordcirculation.cfm)

"We are extremely happy to provide our advertising partners with one of the strongest BPA circulation statements available among all software magazines," said Fuat Kircaali, president of SYS-CON Publications and publisher of Java Developer's Journal. "This is not only because our qualified circulation reached 250% of our competitions', but also because of the exceptional quality of our editorial content and subscriber base." ( http://www.sys-con.com)

"Java Developer's Journal is the first and only Java publication to provide detailed demographic data on its qualified circulation and also the first and only Java publication with a BPA Interactive audited Web site," said Carmen Gonzalez, vice president in charge of advertising sales for Java Developer's Journal. "The vast amount of available data enables Java advertisers to pinpoint their target audiences with surgical accuracy, while taking advantage of our rates which are about 50% of our competitors' rate cards."

RECORD NEWSSTAND SALES: JDJ's single-copy sales also reached a record high in April among 10 leading consumer computer titles. According to BPA International, 13,179 copies were sold on the newsstands, an impressive net sales number - more than twice as many copies as Microsoft Systems Journal, Web Techniques, C/C++ Users Journal, Windows NT Systems and others.

"Java Developer's Journal offers unparalleled value and efficiency for its advertising partners," said Toni Nevitt, founder and president of Advantage Marketing, a leading information marketing consulting firm. "Their success to date is based on providing Java advertisers with print and interactive programs customized to their business needs. JDJ is, by far, the most efficient, targeted publication in the marketplace. JDJ's advertisers are enjoying the exceptional results they are getting from both print and electronic placements."

"We chose JDJ as our exclusive advertising partner and we are delighted with our choice," said Bruce Scott, cofounder of Oracle and founder, president and CEO of PointBase, Inc. "We believe that JDJ is reaching every Java buyer we want to reach and are extremely happy with the results we are achieving with our exclusive advertising program with JDJ."

Java Developer's Journal target print circulation is 160,000 copies and online circulation is 3 million quarterly page views. When the target numbers are achieved, JDJ will be the highest circulation magazine among all consumer software titles audited by BPA International.
