Montvale, NJ, October 15, 2002 - SYS-CON Media, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, has been named among the fastest growing 500 technology companies in North America by Deloitte & Touche, and listed in the 2002 Technology Fast 500. The announcement came one week after SYS-CON was named to Inc 500 for the third time. The 2002 Technology Fast 500 listing will be available exclusively at Forbes.com in November.

SYS-CON Media is widely recognized in the i-technology and magazine publishing industries as the world's leading publisher of print magazines, electronic newsletters, and accompanying Web portals. The company has further solidified its dominant role in the i-technology space with the 2000 launch of an events business with trade shows, conferences, and education seminars.

In 2001 and 2002, Deloitte & Touche named SYS-CON to its annual list of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in New Jersey, based on its five-year revenue growth. As a winner of the Technology Fast 50 Award, SYS-CON was nominated for the national competition of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America.

In 2000, Ernst & Young nominated Fuat Kircaali, founder and CEO of SYS-CON, for its annual "Entrepreneur of the Year" award. This nomination honors individuals and companies whose ingenuity, hard work, and innovation have created successful businesses.

Other awards and achievements the company has received to-date, include the "Folio Thirty Under 30" award, given by Folio magazine to Robert Diamond, editor-in-chief of SYS-CON's Wireless Business & Technology. This prestigious award honors the top 30 magazine industry professionals in the world under the age of 30. Thirty under 30 is Folio's list of some of the most innovative thinkers and leaders in the magazine industry.

In 2001 SYS-CON's Java Developer's Journal ranked # 1 as the "most trusted" publication among developers who use Java. The research results were published in the "Evans Data Developer Marketing Patterns 2001 Annual Report," an independent market research report prepared by Evans Data Corporation, a leading market research firm serving software and developer markets.

All of SYS-CON Media's products and services target interrelated i-technology markets such as Web Services, Java, XML, .NET, Linux, Wireless, ColdFusion, WebLogic, WebSphere, PowerBuilder and a dozen new titles due to launch in 2003. The SYS-CON.com interactive portal features 87 closely related Web sites with more than 2 million page views per month. SYS-CON's leading i-technology developer conferences and digital newsletters, spearheaded by SYS-CON Events complement the company's print and online media presence.

SYS-CON Media achieved a record 752% growth in the past five years. Founded in 1994 by Fuat Kircaali with an initial loan of just $1,200 borrowed on his personal credit cards, SYS-CON, today, is the world's leading magazine publisher serving niche i-technology developer markets. The company's conference and trade-show division produces annual technology events with attendance of more than 10,000 delegates annually, in large convention centers in major metropolitan areas. SYS-CON's seasoned management team has built the company on a well-executed strategy of anticipating new developments in i-technology and of being first-to-market with an all-encompassing package of integrated products and services.

"It is exciting and gratifying to be included in the 2002 Technology Fast 500, an extremely prestigious ranking," said Fuat Kircaali, SYS-CON's founder and CEO. "This shows the spectacular results that may be achieved in today's economy, even in the technology media space, through passion, focus, and teamwork."

"With its ranking on the prestigious Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500, SYS-CON Media's leaders have proven that they have the vision and the fortitude to excel in the highly competitive technology industry," said Mark A. Evans, managing director of Deloitte & Touche's Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. "We congratulate SYS-CON Media on becoming one of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in the United States and Canada."

SYS-CON's revenue and earnings have grown dramatically since its inception in 1994. From 1998 to 2001, revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate of 72.9%. For the same period, gross margin increased at a CAGR of 75.7%. This year, as of October 2002, adjusted annual EBITDA will increase 57.7% to new record earnings. In 2003, the company projects its gross margin to increase 51.9%, and the contribution is projected to increase 70.4%, which will keep SYS-CON in an impressive growth pattern for 2002, 2003 and beyond.
